Hotel in Stockholm
My husband and I are returning from our Baltic cruise to Stockholm on a Saturday morning in July and don't fly out of Arlanda until Sunday morning. Where should we stay (at a reasonable price) in Stockholm so that we can do some sightseeing, enjoy the city and still have access to public transportation to get to the airport?

Are you starting your cruise in Stockholm?

Check out http://www.hotelscombined.com (a search engine that will search several hotel booking sites). Refine your search by limiting the distance to city center to 1 or 2 kilometers.

Hotels in big cities in Scaninavia are sky high.
http://www.nordicseahotel.se/en perhaps or
Otel.com Booking.com Priceline.com deals at times
but not usually in peak cruising months.
Book early and often ASAP!

Are you coming to Stockholm a day or so earlier or are you planning to see Stockholm the day you disembark at the end?

If you are flying out the evening before then your check-out time at the hotel is probably going to be just before noon the next day.
The Sheraton has a very good location.
I do not know what their rates are but they could have a shuttle to the airport.
From the Sheraton you are walking distance to all the major sites including the Vasa Museum.
Another hotel is the Rica Hotel Gamla Stan...again from here you can walk to all the major sites.
From these two hotels everything is almost at your front door when you go out walking.
For the Sheraton ( if you go there) ask for a south view toward Gamla Stan.
Walk over to the City Hall( few blocks away) and see the Gold and Blue Room...
it is here that the Nobel Prize Ceremonies are held.
I am sure you already know the other places you want to visit in Gamla Stan
