Fort Launderdale to Port Of Miami

Hi has anyone taken a taxi from FLL to Port Of Miami if so whats the cost for 4 people with 3 luggages?
Is there a cheaper alternative?
Thanks leaving this March Break with Teens in tow.

We did and it was $75 total per cab. I heard of train which could be cheaper but taxi is definitely the fastest and most convenient way.

You should check to see if your cruise line has a shuttle from Ft. Lauderdale as some pasenges may come in there instead of Miami. If you got your own air there is a fee to do this. You should ask this question on cruisecritic.com 'ask a queation' on their boards. I might have heard of a less $$$, private shuttle there.

Most if not all cruise lines do provide transfers from FLL to Miami port. This is not the best option for two reasons: more expensive than taxi if you are party of 4, and takes a lot longer as you must wait for a bus to fill up.

Another option is to rent a car for one way drop-off. Hertz has a location at the pier at Port of Miami. They shuttle you to the ship.

I was able to arrange one from West Palm Beach for $75 midsize. You may need a little extra time and given that you are closer (FLL) it may not be worth it. For me it was the cheapest options (cab or shuttle).

If you have extra time, you can also use it to tour FLL or Miami before or after the cruise.
