Fodors Travel Talk is Almost Mute!
I just noticed that since yesterday at this same time, there have only been nine posts (10 if you include this!) to the cruise board. So, I started perusing the other boards. It's pretty darn slow all over. Is nobody traveling due to the impending war? Or did registration really scare off that many people?

Tell me about it.

I think they're clamping down hard though. I just posted a new message on the US board and it didn't last 1 minute. Apparently is was a tabboo topic (I was telling how some woman was loudly talking about impending doom at the grocery store which freaked me out about flying out of NY on Thursday).

I guess it's ixnay on the negative talk here at the new Fodors!

I've only been looking at the cruise forum once a day (instead of every 5 minutes) . . . I'm tired of all the bickering about jeans/no jeans/white jeans.

I'm new to cruising, going on my first cruise this summer . . . I was really hoping for lots of good info and tips.

I'm still checking the Europe and Latin America boards every chance I get!

I hope this forum picks up soon or I'll be a regular over on cruisecritic.com and cruisemates.com.

Sandy

Lenore, it's not the war, it's registration and all the flaws it caused. Remember how bad it was right after the registration? People couldn't post, it was extremely slow, etc... Not everybody came back. If I wouldn't have access from work I won't come back unless I really really need to ask something.

You people are amazing. for months on end people complained that this board was not properly managed (registration being the highlight). Now that it is you are still complaining.

There are some negatives still floating about but an example of some positive feed back would be the one concerning parasailing.

Prior to registration all we would get is a debate between Paul, Peter and their disciples about how to book it. And who is cheaper.

Now we actually hear some nice things.

It is really boring. No where near the number of posts that there used to be. Some of the regulars are trying to fill the void with a lot of nonsensical questions. I was against registration. However, being right about it killing this board doesn't make me feel any better. Anyway, now that the change is fait accompli, I just hope things get better soon.
