Celebrity Summit - A Few Quick Questions

We will be sailing on April 4th for a 10 day Caribbean cruise on the Summit. Our ports are St Maarten, St Lucia, Barbados, St Kitts and St Thomas. My questions 1) Do any of these ports require tenders to get ashore? 2) Do the outside balcony cabins have mini fridges and if so, are they usable or stocked with liquor? 3) How late do they generally keep their hot tubs open? 4) Does Celebrity still provide pitchers of ice water in your cabin each evening? 5) Do they offer drink (soda) cards/stickers? Thanks to all.

I can only tell you on a recent cruise to St. Maartin on RC we did have to tender to shore. The reason being not because of the ship, but there were not any docks available. They were all full. (No parking spaces.) For the other questions on your partiular ship, access there web site, for info on that ship.

No tendering at St Lucia, Barbados or St Thomas, don't know the rest.

Haven't been on the Summit, but on the Infinity (sistership) there are no mini-fridges in the balcony cabins. Hot tubs/T-pool seem to close pretty early but don't know the rule; don't remember re the icewater (I seem to think, yes, though). You can buy stickers for unlimited fountain soda, around $4 or $5 per day, must buy for the whole cruise. No cans on the stickers, no use in the dining room, clubs or casino.

Lenore-
You normally tender in to St Martin due to the currents in the sea...It is no bit deal unless you are wheelchair bound.....

If there is a Mini Bar in your room, you can have your steward remove all the goodies and you can put your own things in....It is done every day...This was done on the Millennium for us....

If there is no water placed in your cabin at nite ( there usually is), all you need to do is tell your cabin steward as soon as you get into your cabin on emabarkation....

The reason I asked about the tenders is because we missed Grand Cayman completely on a Princess cruise once because the seas were too rough to safely tender in......bummer!

A lot of cruise lines charge for water (bottled), however I remembered that Celebrity provided the pitcher of water (free).....nice touch, I think.

My husband will probably buy the soda card, but maybe not if you can't use it in the casino or dining room. What kind of a deal is that? Anyway, thanks for the replies everyone.

Unlimited Soda Package on Celebrity--$4.50 per day, plus 15% gratuity. Purchase must be made for the entire cruise and not on a day-to day basis. A special sticker is placed on the signature card, which will allow unlimited soft drinks at all bars throughout the ship, except via room service or from the mini-bar in your cabin. The package does NOT include canned sodas. The guest must be present to receive the soft drink.

All cabins have at the least a mini-bar fully stocked. I just asked my cabin attendant to unload it so I could use it for my own drinks. No problem!!

As for water, I have never been on a cruise that doesn't leave drinking water and generally ice a couple times a day (more if you request it). Take a bottled water with you when you travel and just refill it from the pitcher when you take off to the islands. Even the bathroom sink water has always been potable for me.

Hot tubs are open on CCL from 8am-8pm. They say they need 12 hours to clean them adequetly.

We did not tender in St. Martin last Oct.

I tried to answer all of your questions. I love the Century. Happy cruising!!

We tendered in St. Maartin because Disney, Prinecess, and 2 other ships were in port. It had nothing to do with rough waters.

Just returned yesterday from the Summit. Same itinerary. No tenders in any of the ports. Ship is super, entertainment fantastic. Don't miss OLGA if she's still there, unbeleivable show. All your questions have been answered by others, just know that you will enjoy it. Only excursion we took was the beach bar crawl in Barbados. Fun time, the ship kind of took notice when we arrived back. SIX rum drinks in a couple of hours did it. Service was super. Our fourth CCL cruise.
