Cruise Rebate?
I booked an Alaskan cruise a couple of month ago for $1000(inside cabin). Recently I saw the same category cabin listed for $750 on a couple of websites. I booked through a cruise only TA and it was the best price I could find at the time - including looking on the internet. I heard that you can re-book or get on board credit for the difference. Is this true? Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks for any help.

By all means give your travel agent a call. So much depends on whether or not you have made final payment, and the rules of the promotion (i.e. new bookings only, etc.)
The cruise lines have been working hard in the past couple years to reduce the number of current passengers getting discounts while filling their ships, but it doesn't hurt to find out...

When you call, be firm and insistent. While the lines don't have to give you credit/upgrades, they often will--squeeky wheel and all.
Let your agent know that other peopl have told you they've gotten prices reduced and you expect the same.
Good luck!

You cannot rebook and get a credit. Call the TA and get the price reduction. That's all you need to do. If you don't get it from them - go to plan B.
On our next cruise, it went down $350 pp, called and got the new price while on the phone, that's the way it's supposed to work.
If you have made final payment-it's 50-50% that you will get it-depends on the cruiseline-not - the TA.

Ok guys - here's my update. I called my TA and she was very helpful. I was offered either an upgrade (but still the same category inside cabin - just higher in the ship) or the new price. I opted for the new price and saved $400 total; this will be used for the shore excursions.
