I just booked through a Cruise Compete agent this week. We got an excellent price and so far the service from cruises-n-more, the lowest agent, has been just fine. We now book most travel on the web-including cruises. THe money we save allows us to take an extra trip now and again.

Booked with an agent through them for July 2005. No problems. I always use them to get a price but have since continued to book with the original agent I found through them as she is consistently the cheapest. Tina, at Ready to go Travel.

I have used cruisecompete too. But if you know EXACTLY which cabin number you want, which sailing, then check out cruisequick.com. They beat the others almost every time, but there is no "live" contact, only email. I recently did tons of research and booked five couples on a New England cruise for Sept 06. They were about $100 less pp than the closest cruisecompete bid. They will also cooperate with credits if your cruise price lowers after booking. However, if you are using a coupon, (such as those issued for repeat cruisers by Carnival and Royal Caribbean) they will not give you the full face amount (but they still netted a cheaper fare on a 4 night cruise with RCCL a few years ago).

Joan, I agree with you. I find better deals at cruisequick, but after they separated my group at supper on a trip, I decided to book through cruisecompete agent. It was great- I got a choice of a free excursion or insurance. I chose the latter. On my last cruise, I returned to cruisequick and saved 120 dollars. I used them again for my cruise in January.I asked for a quote from cruisecompete and got one heck of a deal. I attempted to book it, but the agent told me the next day that there was a huge mistake. (I believe someone gave me an inside price vs a balcony) he said he obviously wasn't awake at 3 am when the quote came through. No, i didn't know that. It sounded like bait and hook to me. I never reported it to cruisecompete , but went ahead and booked through cruisequick at a good price. Still, I wouldn't hesitate to use either agency.
