Thrpy, my husband and I will be going in April. Please share the internet sites that you feel are the best. I am most interested, at this point, to read feedback on Xpedition, itself. I know that visiting the Galapagos will be fabulous, I just want to be sure that the Xpedition will be just as wonderful!

I have sailing Oct 31. Galapagos has been on my wish list since I first heard of Darwin. I get migraine triggered by weather, so am a bit anxious about altitude. Have been researching Diamox etc. But would really like to hear about others' experiences re Quito and altitude and Imitrex. If anyone can shed light on how these factors react together, would be very grateful.

everittp. Get to Quito a day ahead of the tour to rest and to acclimate. It was the advice we got from the tour operator when we went to Peru, and we were glad we followed it. Between the Andean herbal tea, I forgot the name, which hotels have ready in the lobby, and one extra day in Cuzco, we were just fine.

Yes, Cruise Critic has a wonderful review, questions, answers and more questions. We are going on the 10 day starting Dec 3 in Quito. First, however, we are flying to Lima and going to Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. That will take about 10 days then we fly in to Quito from Lima on the 3rd. Can't wait.

Wilderness Travel's web site is www.wildernesstravel.com. They use excellent hotels and guides. If you are going to Machu Picchu, make sure you stay in the Machu Picchu Sanctury Lodge. It's the only one at the Sanctuary, and being right there makes a HUGE difference. Any tour staying below in Aguas Calientes you can assume it's less than first class.
