Anyone booked through cruise.com before?
I just booked a great cruise through cruise.com. I was wondering if anyone else has used them and what their experiences have been like? They were about $250 lower than anyone else. The agent was very friendly and helpful. I just wanted to hear other's experiences. Thanks.

Elizabeth:

I've booked three trips (taken two) through cruise.com and I have had zero complaints. They had the lowest price going on Carnival trips, though not necessarily with all the various lines.

(I know someone on this board compared prices with them and they couldn't beat it, but that might have had to do with timing or perhaps it was with a line they don't have as good a deal with).

Cheers!

Cheers!

I booked with them last year, what a screw up, it was my second time, the first was fine, but on the second cruise there were problems and they said "call the cruise line Yourself" so much for good service. Good prices are a deal maker but customer service is a deal breaker

Based on this board's recommendations, I called Cruise.com a few days ago. The agent, who sounded very pleasant, said that she'd make a quick phone call and get right back to me. That was the last I heard from her! It was especially annoying as I waited around for her call, rushed the one short phone call I got off the phone so as not to miss hers, and wasted a rare free day, when I could have been making actual headway with a different agency.

Have used them for 3 cruises. They have always called back quickly, which is more than I can say for the several local TAs I have used. I used Tammy, ext. 203. She is located in Florida, and has been a TA for a while. Book your own air, though. Their air department works independently from the cruise dept., & booked the air very late & didn't book seats for our Alaska cruise. I ook on the phone with their 800 #.

After a few terrible experiences, the most serious bein hidden charges and unauthorized extra charges to my credit card, I no longer use any web agents.

I surf the web for deals and prices and use them in dealing with my real live travel agent who works her tail off for me.

The web outfits will die soon unless they decide to operate ethically.

Exactly.

And when they die off, they don't just become another dead site. They cost innocent patrons big bux, hide behind web anonymity and the owners sell the credit card numbers to others.

Next, they start a new web site and begin again.

No way I'll actually buy anything from these fraud ridden wqebsites.

I have just booked my third cruise with Cruise.com. I use the same TA each time. She returns my calls promptly and have never had anything but good service. You can look for the deals on line, book on the phone and get the best of both worlds. They have always beaten other quotes that I have gotton.
