Can anyone recommend a nice "upscale" Beach Hotel in Cozumel for the day? I have friends that will be taking 2 elderly parents on a cruise and they would like to disembark the ship and go to a Beach Hotel. Of course, they will pay the day/fee.

Actually Chaukanaub State Park is very nice with facilities available and its only $10 pp.

I agree with the above poster. They could take a stroll around the lovely grounds at their own pace, sit at the open bar for a soft drink or alcoholic drink, watch the dolphin swim (there is a wooden platform around the enclosed area that they can walk on. Your friends can rent a car after they dock in Cozumel. They and their parents can then go to Chanulnaab (sp???)and when they tire of that, they can drive them around the island. There's only one road and it is a lovely drive past some pretty beaches and rugged shoreline. They will end up in the downtown area before returning to the ship. I think it will provide fun sightseeing and they will know more about the island.

You're welcome martita - the ship will offer this excursion, but you can do it so much cheaper yourself. It will only cost car rental and 10.00 pp for entrance to the park. And it is so easy, just ask when you rent the car for directions.
