jedivader ,I didn't say $275 fares are on right now.USAires (just awhile ago), and companies that use charter planes like Vacation Express and Apple vacations have had that kind of fares before at various time.Eventhough you have set dates ,it's still several months from now , just watch for sales...The cheapest fares on right now (March ,April) is $471.00 before taxes.(AA, USAires). If you are more daring , try Hotwire ,I got a $388.00 roundtrip ,nonstop , all taxes incl. to Argentina-(11 hours flight from DC) How about that?Good luck.

You're probably looking at commercial fares too soon - the cheapest fares usually pop up 6-8 weeks [3 months max] before the flight. Therefore you will probably start seeing lower fares for late October starting in late July to early August. Plus, anything you book now will change half a dozen times or more between now and then with the constant pressure on all the airlines to gauge demand and fly just enough planes [not too many and not too few]. American rewrote my itinerary to USVI 5 times in the 3 months I had the tickets, due to constant changing of flight schedules.

That said, the longer you wait, the fewer options you might find. If your carrier of choice can't sell enough seats they may cancel a flight or two, which may decrease your schedule choices or even sell out - pay more now and you are at least guaranteed a flight. And sometimes as schedules decrease, fares actually go up.

Only you can decide how long to wait or not wait - which is more important - the cheapest fare you can get, or locking in your arrangements as soon as possible. Personally I would try to wait until at least summer before booking. And I agree to check into charters or package tours - I have done pretty well with AAVacations.
