Typical Airfares to Aruba?
I am considering going to Aruba in December from Chicago and am wondering how I find out what a *good* airfare is? The price currently is around $500 Sat-Sat. Does anyone know if that is typical or how to go about getting better pricing?

Most times when you buy a package you get good airfare from agent. Try contacting Travel Unlimited at http://www.travelunlimited.com they have some great rates for Aruba.

I have been checking the internet every other day for over 2 months for good flights out of Chicago and ATA has $663.25. United had a $712.25 flight. Delta had a nice flight and sometimes it was $663, today it was $815. That time of year is expensive. I just got a price from my travel agent for over $800 for a direct Charter flight.

Anyway, my dilegence has paid off, I got on expedia.com last night and found a US Airways flight for an unbelievable $359. I think it was a fluke because I looked for it again this morning and it's not there. You may want to keep checking Expedia and Travelocity every day, you may get lucky! Good luck!

$500 is a good price, though not an awesome one. You could do a lot worse. As stated previously, air/hotel package pricing may come out lower.

I wouldn't be too worried about booking a USAir flight for 2 to 3 months from now, considering the usual pattern of events in major airline bankruptcies. I would hesitate to book USAir 10-11 months out, however.
