package deals
What are some good websites to go to check out air/hotel packages? We're planning on staying at the Bucuti on Aruba in Oct or Nov. We don't want All-Inclusive. And are Apple Vacations usually pretty good? Thanks!

I've used Liberty Travel several times and have always gotten a great deal. You might try their website, www.libertytravel.com to compare prices.
Also www.travelocity.com, www.expedia.com, and www.cheaptickets.com and you might check with all the airlines for hotel/air packages as well. Delta has some great carribean packages sometimes, so check there www.delta.com
Hope this helps.

Have used Apple Vacations and Funjet - both are reasonable. Apple has a website where you can look at options but must book thru a travel agent. Funjet's website will let you book directly. I hear good things about Travelzoo, but I think it's more of a last minute site, rather than a 6 month out travel site.
Dependent upon where you live, all of the major airlines sell package deals. They can be a little more expensive than Apple or Funjet, but have the advantage of scheduled air, rather than charters. As a gold frequent flyer with American, if I book a trip on AAVacations.com, I get my frequent flyer mileage, plus my upgrade requests, plus my choice of regularly scheduled flights out of my home airport, with reserved seats - rather than driving to Chicago or Minneapolis to get a charter flight. Northwest sells similar packages, as does Delta. Charters are cheaper but you don't get your seat assignment until you check it and if you miss the flight - you're in trouble. However, I certainly have done this many times in years past with no particular difficulty, and the packages are often good deals.
