Villa rental in T&C?
Are there villas to be rented in T&C? My husband and I are considering vacationing here instead of St Barts this year. We'd need a villa though (will have a small baby and need access to a kitchen).
If there are villas, does anyone know a good rental agency? Also, what part of the island is the best (great views, etc)?
Thank you for your help!

You don't necessarily need a villa. The majority of resorts on Provo are condo types with kitchens. Check out www.wherewhenhow.com for villa and resort info. You definitely want to stay on Grace Bay Beach.

Also try prestigiousproperties.com for rentals. Lots of villas there! But, if you get a 1 bedroom at any of the beachfront condos (Sands, RWI, Ocean clubs, etc) they all have kitchens and living areas, are extremely nice, have decent restaurants, activity desks, and great pools. Grace Bay is perfect beach for babies!!!

provo has villas of every imaginable description. i have done ALOT of research on this and if you can give me your budget and specific wants i can recommend specific houses. other than that try:
www.caribbeanway.com
www.tcivillas.com
www.finevillas.com
www.elliotholdings.com
www.turksandcaicosrentals.com
www.seafeathers.com
from the info you have given i might consider villas located on taylor bay beach. it is on the south side of provo and you would have to drive to restaurants and everything else (10-15 mins) but taylor is a very shallow beach (midcalf to knee) for a long way out and that might be good if the child is mobile.
on grace bay there is a nice place - www.windowsalamar.com has a fenced beach yard, with 2 palapas and is as on the beach as you can get. 2br, full kitchen, and caridad who will come in daily to spiff up for you. again you would want a car.

Thank you all so much! This is extremely helpful information.
We really enjoyed St Barts but thought we'd try T&C this year. I believe both are about the same as far as solitude and relaxation. Also, this year we'll have an infant with us so we don't need nightclubs, etc.
Thank you again.

provo is short for provodenciales the name of the island in the turks & caicos you plan to visit.
silly creek and chalk sound are both on the southwest part of provo. neither are close to restaurants, but by this i mean about 10-15 min easy drive. there is an entire community of homes in this area completely apart from the condo/hotel zone. its actually pretty nice. however neither are as child friendly as taylor bay beach or sopadilla bay beach which are both on the way to silly creek and chalk sound. please go to www.seafeathers.com - at the bottom of their page hit map. this is a huge map but the portion that opens is just where you need to look to see where all the above are. the area further east labeled lower bight road and forbes point is where alot the resorts and restaurants are.
specifically look at: tcivillas at Ailzee, Bahia Mar & Bamboo (all taylor) and Crystal Sands, Kinamwei &Villa Oceana(sopadilla).
another thought is www.oceanpointvillas.com its a group of i think 10 villas. each has a pool and its a 5 min walk onto taylor beach. these all have deep water docks though so may not be good with baby.

We really are looking for off the beaten path. We plan to rent a car so we get get to great snorkeling spots and explore all the island has to offer. I can't justify the prices on Grace Bay when you can visit and go back to more remote area. We really are just looking for great snorkeling and fine beaches and Provo seems to have both.

hi-my daughter lives on Provo, so I have been there several times as a guest. Our whole family will be going next winter (adults, grandchildren) and we were looking into renting a villa, but as my daughter pointed out, why stay in a house, when you can stay at a condo right on the beach with pool, restaurant if you wish, and miles of sandy beach right at your doorstep. Also, daily cleaning service which you would not get at a villa. Not only that, but you might meet other young families to chat with. The Grace Bay area has many wonderful choices including Ocean Club West which we like. You can walk along the beach and walk up into any resort to have a bite at lunch(except the all inclusive Beaches or Club Med), or to have a fine dinner. The people at the condos can direct you to best areas for snorkeling. I know whichever way you choose to ge, you won't be disappointed with Provo!

We really are looking for a place that isn't just another along a string of resorts, thats why Harbour Club Villas really have caught our eye. I have not heard one bad thing about them, except for being in a out of the way spot, which we consider a good thing. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks
