thoughts and recommendations...
Hi T&C Fodorites...
as i click thru all these great, information-packed posts, my eyes become slightly glazed... and, i was hoping i could ask a favor of those 'in the know' regarding T&C and some 'can't miss' things to do...
my girlfriend and i are staying for 1 week at Royal West Indies at the end of March. unfortunately, we did not get an ocean-view room, but we did get a 'garden-view' at RWI... we have read that it is still nice.
we are active, enjoy snokeling (looking for a trip or two), enjoy nice dinners w/ adult beverages. we are looking to relax, but at the same time want to make sure we 'do Provo' right!
at this point in time, we are not renting a car (are most places walkable or by bus?). and, we do not have any reservations for trips or dinners yet (do we need them beforehand?).
any and all suggestions are welcome! we are leaving on March 26, 2006!
thanks in advance for your time and help!

hi duncan, make reservsations for anacona at the grace bay club when you get on island. aqua bar is a great place. coyaba at coral gardens is another very nice restaurant.
take a look at www.provo.net for excursion companies.
you may want to rent a car for a day or 2 so you can get the feel of the island. its small but most things are not in walking distance.

duncan-We're going next February and I have to tell you, there is a jewel of a local on the tripadvisor.com forum who goes by the name of "Potcake". If you post your question there, you will get a wealth of info. If you retitle this thread you may get more as well. There is a poster here, who also posts on tripadvisor by the name of "Blamona". I believe she spends a considerable amount of time in TC as well. She and others familiar with TC may not have looked at your thread because they didn't realize that it was about TC.

I see it is about T&C!!!
When you land, pick up a free copy of Where When How magazine, and it's companion dining guide. The dining has all the resturants plus all the menus, and most prices. You can get these pretty much everywhere, including the airport.
It's all about the water, you must do at least a 1/2 day excursion. My fave being www.SailProvo.com and www.JBTours.com and www.silverdeep.com
The water really is as gorgeous as the Silverdeep pictures.
try www.thegecko.tc to get around.
You may want to rent a 4x4 1 day, check out Chaulk Sound (it glows it's so gorgeous!) Sapadilla Bay, and Malcolms beach. Take a picnic at one of them.
My favorite restaurants:
expensive: Coyoba's, Magnolia's
Mid: Bay Bistro, Hemmingways
less: Tiki Hut
I love breakfast at Saltmills Cafe. You get alot of (excellent ) food for under $10.
I love lunch at Ocean Club East (You can walk there)I also love sunset drinks there.

thank you so much for your insight and comments. this will help out tremendously!
i do have another question though... if we are taking food - what types of food can we take.
and, is it possible to take bottles of wine to the island?
again, thanks for the help! we can't wait to go!!
