the pink sands beach, harbour island

I know Valentines Resort has chairs and umbrellas at the beach but was reading some tripadvisor.com reviews and noticed a post there (by Blamona) that sometimes the chairs were occupied by non-Valentines guests. So my question is, are there vendors at the beach that rent chairs and umbrellas, or if we eat lunch at the Coral Sands Resort, do they have beach chairs and umbrellas that they will let us use?

When we were there back in '07, we used the beach access between Coral Sands Hotel and Pink Sands Hotel. There was a guy there who rented beach chairs and umbrellas. At the time it cost us $10.

What about using chairs at Coral Sands if we eat there? Does anyone know?

You can pay the $10 to rent a chair from the guy there--umbrellas are usually for hotel guests only, and it's frowned upon to use even if eating there. Plus, the restaurant, and the restaurant at Pink Sands sit up from the beach overlooking, you have to use steps to get to the beach from both restaurants.

Blamona, on your tripadvisor review of Valentines, you mentioned sometimes the chairs that Valentines has set aside for its guests were occupied by non-guests. How often did this happen? I'm probably worrying in advance for nothing but we need shade!

I wouln't think you will have much of a problem in May the island is not that crowded. I have been there in May and been the only one on the beach infront of Runaway.

Plans have changed, and we will now be going to Harbour Island in Feb, instead of May. (Won skyauction for Spice Island, Grenada, and going there in May). Will the beaches be as uncrowded in Feb as in May?
