Pink Sands?? Think you have that confused with Pink Beach Club. If that's what you meant, it's Pompano all the way - especially for such a special getaway. Could not be more romantic and the owners treat you like family. We're going in June and are counting the days.

sp,
whoops i meant the Pink Sands Hotel in Eleuthera. I've heard the beach is small at Pompano..and I'm all about the beach. So now we're thinking about Galley Bay in Antigua or possibly back to the Pinks Sands in Eleuthera. Would love any input you might have.

Pink Sands would be a wonderful choice if you are looking for a great beach. The beaches on Harbour Island and Eleuthera stretch for miles, and have the softest pink and white sand.

Harbour Island has several good restaurants, a bit of shopping and a beach that is amazing.

Pink Sands is really a beautiful resort. There is a beach bar/restaurant lovely pool area and the restaurant is one of the best on island. The villas are spread out on the lush grounds so you will have lots of privacy.

You can fly into N. Eleuthera airport and take a taxi to the water taxi over to the island and a taxi will be waiting to take you over to Pink Sands.

IF you want to find more deserted beaches you can go back to Eleuthera rent a car and drive south on the island to one of several beautiful beaches and I would bet you won't see anyone else all day.

Hope this helps, have a great time.

Once again, wantsomesun and I are debating the merits of Pink Sands. You won't find our previous thread because for some reason the moderator deleted the entire thread; odd, no rules were broken. This hotel is so run down yet receives such great reviews that I no longer trust Conde Nast or Fodors. Pink Sands is in SERIOUS NEED OF UPDATING! The furniture in the rooms looked like caribbean blue painted garage sale purchases, and the bathroom was more disgusting than my college dorm. However, the restaurant has an appealing eclectic decor and fine fare. One can't argue with photographic evidence so I resubmit the photos taken during our November 2003 stay in one of their premium Ocean View cottages. We were so disappointed, my motive is to spare others. See for yourself:

Oh my, that looks bad and someone I know from the SBHonline forum is there now. I guess it's gone downhill in the 5 years since I was on Harbour Island. It was absolutely gorgeous back then, although we didn't see the inside of the villas. How can they justify charging those prices if they let the resort fall into disrepair as shown in your pictures. The Harbour Island regulars need to go check this one out on their next visit.

Thanks for posting the pictures. It does not look like Pink Sands to me, but I will check, and email the pictures to Pink Sands so they know what people are saying.

The other threads about the Bahamas have been deleted because of our "friend" Harrald, and his constant barage of misinformation.

Sorry wantsomesun, I think I know where I stayed, they are indeed pictures of our accommodations at the Pink Sands, "Eluthera North" cottage to be exact. The management is fully aware of the state of disrepair the resort has fallen into. I was shown a second cottage by someone from the Front Desk and it looked no differant. I commented on how bad the bathrrom looked in particular, and he suggested I mention it to management.
