TCI - Ski Doo Tour

I have seen a couple trip reports talking about a fun ski doo tour. The website was pretty limited and I would appreciate comments from anyone who has taken the tour. If I remember correctly, they went to another island, Parrot Cay maybe?

I have not done it, but they do not go to Parrot Cay.

There are a bunch of cays lined up past Provo, but I think the tour goes through the back side, and through mangroves. Probably somewhere on Big Water Cay.

I think KVR has done the tour.

It does not go up Grace Bay Beach.

Oh, and recently I've seen jet skis on Sapadilla Bay, which I assume go through the back side of Provo. They are parked in the water there.

I just read a trip report that they have a jet ski rental hut on Sapodilla Bay. I'll look into it and let you know (we're staying at a villa on Sapodilla-leaving this Saturday!) We were considering renting jet skis or the ski doo tour as well, but we'll play that one by ear.

Yes, we did this tour when we went to T & C in 2006. Absolutely loved it. One of the best excursions we did. I couldn't find much info about it either, so I just e-mailed Fun and Sun with my questions. Here's their web-site:

http://www.turksandcaicos.tc/sunandfun/

I think I paid around $125 for the 2 hour guided tour. 1 jet ski that DH and I rode together. We went to this area where there was a cave and then to another area where there were starfish. The water was so clear and the sand so white it looked like snow for a distance. I don't remember the exact area or location. It was just us and another couple on the tour. They took pictures also. We bought 3.

Our pictures of this tour are posted here:

page 12 and 13

Definatly do the 2 hour guided tour and not the rentals. The rentals they didn't let those people go very far so they could keep a eye on them from the dock. Not fun riding around in the same place for however long they paid for.

Hi KVR,
Thanks so much for sharing!

Okay, a few questions for you:
1-our issue with doing the jet skis as much as I would love to, is that we will have our 6 and 3 year old with us. Do you know if they allow 2 kids and 2 adults on 1 big jet ski, aka sandwich the kiddos between us? From photos it looks like 3 people is the max. I just wouldn't want my 3 year old hanging on to one of us on the back, or if he did, we would at least need to hook a parasail to him (totally kidding!). I guess the other option would be to do the boat rental, but we're already booked with a 1/2 day tour w/Caicos Dream Tours on Tuesday so I would think this would be somewhat similar. Not sure if it would be worth the extra money?

2-where are you in picture 162? It's gorgeous!

3-where is gecko grill? Looks pretty cool!

4-I was told but can't remember-where exactly do you find that wall mural of T&C? Isn't it in a shopping center somewhere? I'm hunting that down to get a family photo there for sure!

Where did you stay on this trip? Any other rec's on must to do's? Love your photos! I'll be sure to post a TR upon my return

Virginia, Okay, thanks! I thought the driver had to be in front on jet skis though, law wise. I guess I'll just see what they say.

I'm not sure if there is an age requirment for the ski doos. I would e-mail them to ask. The kids do need to ride in front of you.

Pic #162 is the Sail Provo full day tour we did. There was a little beach area that we stopped at to look for shells and sand dollars. I'm not sure of the exact location.

The Geko Grill is at the Ocean Club Resort. We went for DH's birthday and the food was pretty good. They had a rib eye steak dinner for $30 that was good. We stayed at the Sibonne on Grace Bay and if I remember correctly it was like a $12 cab ride one way.

The mural in our pictures is at the Ports of Call shopping center.

The jet ski tour and the Sail Provo tour were the highlights of our trip. We also enjoyed the Middle Caicos tour with Silver Deep.

Here's the link to our Trip Report. It is very detailed with restaurant prices.

Hope you have a great trip.
