STT hotels...suggestions?

My wife and I are going to STT Oct 29-Nov 4. Any suggestions on where to stay that is not a super family resort, on or close to the beach and on the east side near Red Hook for us to jump to other islands. Would like the best bang for my $$$.

My ideas...Elysian Beach Resort, Secret Harbor or Caribbean Style.

Hi There,

SH would be a great choice. It's my personal favorite on the island, but not sure if it will be in the same price range as some others or not. Elysian would be another good choice for a condo type resort as well as Bluebeard's Beach Club which is a bit closer to town than the first two. Other beachfronts that you might check into depending upon whether or not you can get a deal are Sapphire Beach a bit past Red Hook or Bolongo Bay, a bit closer to town.

I booked with SH last night. I got a pretty good deal since we are going in the off-off season. The rate was $140 a night with your 6 night free. Turns out to be around $116 a night.

I will post my thoughts when we get back in mid-November.

Thanks again.

Try the Ritz Carlton. On a nice beach and just before you get to Red Hook. From the beach you can take a day sail to St. John on the Lady Lindsey.

HA! The Ritz. Your funny. That is too much $$$ for me and my wife. I sleep and shower in a hotel, thats it. I just need a clean place that is close to the beach. So, SH is a good bet.

Got back from staying at Secret Harbor. It was a great place to stay and a very good bang for buck. It was convient enough to walk to Red Hook (my wife and I runners) in 20 min and jump on a ferry to visit the other islands.

The only thing I would warn about is the resturant Blue Moon Cafe at SH was not great. Very rude service, sub-par food and expensive for what you get.

To all that see this...enjoy your trip to STT. If you can get a change to goto The Baths on Virgin Gorda (BVI) please do so. It was one of the most remakable beaches/areas I have been to.
