St. Thomas or Croix? HELP!

Hi and thanks in advance! We got married on St. Thomas last August and stayed for a little over a week. Loved it so much, we're going back in June/July! We're thinking about going to STX this time but the problem is, we aren't sure if there's enough to do there. We're not really talking about tourist stuff, we're going to relax and just hang out. Is there alot of nightlife on Croix or as much to do as on St. Thomas? That's our only worry...Any suggestions? We're hoping to decide asap!

Thanks for all your help!

HI,If your not sure about St Croix ( I personally have not been) then just plan a day trip over on the ferry out of St Thomas or even take the Sea Plane.
That way you can get a taste of St Croix and decide if it's someplace you would like to stay the next time.
Please come back and write a review on your travels!

I haven't been to STT in about 12 years but have been to STX six out of the last eight years. Obviously, we prefer STX because it is quieter (almost no cruise ships and many fewer hotels).

STX has terrific restaurants and some fun boardwalk bars that I am sure are lively into the night. There is one casino at the Divi (we've never been) but I would say that the nightlife is much less than on STX.

You can't beat the snorkeling on STX (a trip to Buck Island is a must) and, contrary to what others may say on the board, we feel very safe there.

The other posters response about going over on the ferry is a good one; however, I don't think it will be running in June/July. It's the same ferry that is used on the Hyannis to Nantucket run so it comes north in the summer. The seaplane is an option but is quite pricey.

Good luck with your planning.

ccrosner,Yes,Your right. The ferry from St Thomas to St Croix only runs Dec.16th to May 2nd. I did not know that....
Also, the Sea Plane is around $140 RT per person...Kinda expensive for a day trip.
I suppose you could plan to spend a couple of nights there to get a taste of the island..
Triskele,Do you stay on St Thomas? Do you ferry over to St John?
We always like to stay on St John. It's a little less hustle and bustle and we enjoy the scenery.
I also like the convenience of being able to ferry to other islands from St Thomas/St John. It's so much fun....
I love the different islands USVI/BVI
Hope you have a great trip whatever you decide!

I believe we're going to go to STX...we're renting a condo there! Should be fun. And yeah, the ferry doesn't run. Airfare is alot more ($462 more pp) to STX than STT so we're flying into STT and taking Cape air over to stx. Still save about $300 a person doing that! Went to STJ last time we were there and we weren't really impressed. We're actually looking to get some investment property then move down there (not anytime soon) so we're trying to get a feel for "which island?" to buy on anyway... Thanks for you're help and I give a full report! Not going till June though!

Thanks again!
