I have heard lots of things about Punta Cana, but most recently heard something I had not heard before. Some friends visited and said it was really really windy the entire time they were there. Is this typical?????????????? Or was it a fluke?

Windy, I think not... balmy maybe...warm breezes..but that is it... 82 degrees...better than 39 degrees and snow coming..

I froze in late January;the wind can be strong, the rains cold. Hunkering down btw.tree roots on albeit a great beach -- if you explore beyond the wildly overdeveloped resort areas -- isn't bliss.

We have just returned from the Sunscape Beach which although in Punta Cana is one hour from the airport, granted it was the second week in February... We were also two years ago at the Sunscape Grand and never had a problem... perhaps it's just this year.. Punta Cana was badly damaged by several hurricanes.
