Planning a trip to Punta Cana mid-January. Have been reading reviews and bulletin boards, and am more confused than ever! Where would you stay? We want all inclusive, nice beach, snorkelling off the beach, few kids, and beautiful surroundings. Somewhere lovely and romantic to get away. We both love to walk, so nice grounds/gardens/trails are a plus. We've been looking at the VIP package at Bavaro Princess, but are open to all suggestions! Thanks.

Hi Lauren: We just got back from Punta Cana it is a beautiful beach vacation spot. We were by the Secrets Excellence and it seemed to be what you are looking for. Adults only, secluded, beautiful beach for miles.It is a little more pricey than some of the other 5 star resorts in Punta Cana. Our resort was close to the Paridisus which looked nice, we went to the casino there and walked through the property . It seemed huge and very quiet, the gardens were gorgeous. Good luck. Karen

secrets does sound really nice, but i have read that mosquitos are a real problem. is this true everywhere in punta cana? is there a certain time of year when they are worse?
