St. Thomas Dining
We're entertaining friends at Frenchman's Cove, our timeshare in St. Thomas in Nov. They own several weeks in Aruba and have never been to VI so we want to show them a good time. We're fairly new owners but have spent many weeks in St. Thomas already. What's our best bet for restaurants? We love wining and dining just as much as casual/beachy.

blue moon cafe at secret harbour. right on the water. good food. or lunch at their beach bar.
tony romano's on the road into coral world for italian.
havana blue at marriott for outstanding food and gorgeous room.
sunday brunch at the ritz is delightful. everything from eggs to carved beef to sushi but may prevent your kids from going to college.
a drink at duffy's love shack in the parking lot in red hook is a must. the later you go the more happening it will be.
for more subdued cocktail experience - ride the tram at havensight in time to watch the sun go down. gorgeous view of the harbor.

On the more casual side, we really like Hook Line and Sinker in Frenchtown. Consistently good, fresh food. Our friends that live on St Thomas really like The Pie Whole for pizza and beer also in Frenchtown. I think it's fairly new. There is a nice little deli (to go) right there in Frenchtown too.

There's a new restaurant on the north side that's getting rave reviews & it's called 13. Medium price range.
Room with a View at Bluebeard's is also a great choice as is Alexander's Bella Blu in Frenchtown (but no view.) For a casual, beachy place try Iggies at Bolongo www.iggiesbeachbar.com & it's not far from where you're staying.

I agree. Havanna Blue is outstanding; Lotus has the same owners.
Another favorite of mine is Hervee's in Charlotte Amalie. Food is excellent - excellent wine choices. Located on a hill, it has a beautiful view of the harbor.

Virgilio's is very good for Italian, nice decor. I hoighly recommend East End Cafe near Red Hook for more casual but excellent Italian food. Havana Blue is fantastic though a bit pricey. Off the Hook in Red Hook has good seafood.

We're back and had many great dining experiences. For our Aruba friends, they LOVED Room with A View - said it was the best dining they have experienced in the Carribean (and they are foodies) and a good value for what you get. We will definitely go there again. Also had a great meal next door at Banana Tree Grill - great food, friendly service. We did our standard trip to Virgilios, food was great but service slacked off at the end which is definitely not the "norm" there so something must have been "up". We always enjoy our night at Iggies for crab legs and it did not disappoint.
Like previously mentioned, there was a lot of buzz about the new place "Thirteen" but we didn't make it there this trip. Will check it out next time we go in May.
Has anyone been to Roberts? We were there a year ago and had a very nice meal but didn't hear a word about them this time.
