St. Lucia --rain rain rain-- should I cancel??

OK, what would you do? We're supposed to leave on Wed. for 6 days in St. Lucia, I just looked at the weather, and it's supposed to rain every day we're there. Not just normal St. Lucia rain for an hour a day, but lots of rain! I bought the travel insurance, but it was like working a miracle to get this planned, and get someone to take the kids. Should we go???

Marti,
Get on weather.com and look to see if there is a system down there or something.
It's a lush, tropical island, but it's unlikely to have days in a row of rain unless there's a system.
I about had a heart attack last month right before I left for Provo and saw days of rain in the forecast. It was absolutely perfect the whole time - no rain at all.
You may want to check a couple of other sites too just to compare.
I wouldn't cancel unless it looks really bad.
I would cancel and go elsewhere. Rain will ruin your trip. We went to Kaui last March and it rained 7/10 days. It really did ruin the vacation.

Don't cancel yet. If you were looking at a weather chart on the Internet, that's exactly what it said before we left. But when we got there, the rain was few and far between. It would rain on occasion, but only for a few minutes and it was actually a quick relief from the sun. If it was the weather channel and there's some sort of front or stoem coming in, then it's a tough decision. However, our weatherman can't get the weather right from one minute to the next. I'm surprised they'd be getting so much rain. It's the tail end of their rainy season.

Will your travel insurance really let you cancel because of forecasted rain?

Marti: I do hope you post upon your return. I always see the questions concerning rain posted on the Caribbean boards and I must say....I have been extremely lucky with this. We visited St. Lucia in August, typically one of their rainiest months. Stayed for a week and it rained periodically (on & off for 20 min.) during one morning on the beach and of course, during our rainforest tour. After that, evening on the afternoon boat ride, it rained a few minutes, but immediately thereafter, the sun came out. One never knows and they forecasted rain every day for the week we were there. Can't wait to hear how your trip went!
