St. John, St. Barths, or Grenada ???
Hey all, I have learned so much from all of you well traveled folks. So much that I have been able to narrow my vacation choices to either St. John, St. Barths, or Grenada. We are looking for great snorkeling, friendly people, beautiful beaches, opportunities for some hiking, and an island with a laid back feel to it.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Of the 3, St Barths has the least good snorkeling. The others are great, especially St John. Grenada is excellent for snorkeling if one is off a boat, not so good simply srolling in from beach as as St John. Food would be best (and most expensive) on St Barths. Beaches there are lovely too. But St John is the ticket for great snorkeling (and also beautiful beaches). All of the Caribbean is pretty laid back, tho St Barth's is much more "European" and "chic."

It's St.John for all that you mentioned. Grenada won't be back from the hurricane for some time, and snorkeling is marginal. St.Barths is iffy for snorkeling, and not all that pretty. French chic, yes, but IMO overrated otherwise.

For what you are looking for - St John, the snorkeling is great and the people are friendly. Hiking in Grenada is wonderful, but there are places to hike in St John. It is just a beautiful island. Really all three islands have very friendly people. St Barths is not very caribbean feeling, more European.
As a PP mentioned the snorkeling in St Barths and Grenada is not great.
