My goodness people, relax! This sort of reaction doesn't happen when someone inquires about topless sunbathing. I think the poster is asking whether it is okay to skinny dip on a secluded beach, not in a resort pool. I don't feel a specific island is needed to answer the question.

Now, to answer the question, I personally have gone skinny dipping on a SECLUDED beach we came across in Cozumel and had no problems at all. We also did this on a stretch of beach in St. Maarten, on Penal (sp?) Island.

Many posters to this site talk about the numerous yet empty beaches they come across in their travels and boast about it. Why not go skinny dipping if you can?! I see no harm in this question at all.

Listen Not a Crank, it does matter what island you're talking about. Public nudity (and that would include skinnydipping) is ILLEGAL in the US and British Virgin Islands. In general except for the French islands (St Martin, Martinique, St Barth etc) public nudity is frowned upon. Caribbean culture is, in general, quite conservative. Please, please, please be respectful of local custom. We are guests. If you have to go nude pick a place where it will be appropriate.

Hello Bather,
If you truly want to skinny dip, there are quite a few islands where it's fine to do so.
Make sure before you go that you are going to an island where it is acceptable.
Otherwise, it's crude, rude and unacceptable.
Most of the French islands are fine with it...
Besides those French islands that were mentioned , you can also go to certain resorts in Jamaica that have " clothings optional beaches".In Antigua-there is one, very secluded and it is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen ,it's called Hawksbill, but we didn't like that hotel there.
