Sands Resort - CourtYard Room

Hi,
Me and my boyfriend are going to Turks and Caicos in mid-May. We are planning to stay at The Sands Resort in a "Courtyard" view room (save a little money). Has anyone ever stayed in one of these rooms? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

We stayed in an Oceanview room, but were hardly ever in it.
For the money savings, I'd recommend the courtyard rooms.
You will want to be outside on the gorgeous beach or sightseeing anyway.
You'll never miss the view.
We thought we would spend time on the screened balcony sipping wine or having breakfast, but we never did.
(We also found the screens to kind of inhibit the view anyway, so if $$$ saving is a question, pocket the difference and go on an extra excursion or two.)
Have a great time!

Hi Diana,
We are going to The Sands in Decemeber. We booked an OceanFront Studio, we actually wanted to go all out for this trip considering we had a disappointing vacation in January in Jamaica(another forum...LOL)...Is this a mistake? We were told by other that you do actually have an ocean view and it is very close to the beach. Any suggestions, comments, pointers for our trip.

Thanks!

Hi Belle,
The Sands is very spread out and there are different categories of rooms in different buildings.
The OCF rooms are the closest to the beach and most do have nice views.
Be sure to ask for a 3rd floor room - they have the best views.
The views in the oceanview are not as good, but you can still see the water, it's just a little distant.
We decided we would not upgrade to oceanfront from oceanview because we knew we were never going to be in the room, and we never were!
I'm sure no matter what category you choose, you'll be very happy. It's a lovely property.
