Sandals Royal Carribean vs. Ritz
My husband and I are planning a 5 day trip to Mo Bay in October. We are torn between Sandals Royal Carribean (Grande Luxe Beachfront Suite) and The Ritz (which looks like standard rooms are only available with the AI option). Your recommendation?

I have confirmed with the Ritz that the AI option is available with a suite, in case you are interested in that. So unless they are sold out for that time period, you should be able to get one. I have found that the info on the website (room rates and packages available) can change from day to day so call reservations directly. I believe it is $70 more a day for a suite, well worth it, in my opinion.

We had a sutie at Ritz. However, our friends had a standarad room and the room is very nice including the bathroom. If I were you I would not spend extra money for a suite, unless you've a child or just wanting for more space. Or just do a EP plan no AI and eat out at different restaurnts for dinner. The restaurants shuttle will pick you up, free charge. Ask the front desk for a menu and make reservation. You must eat at the Rose Hall Ritz country golf club restaurants, go there at day time, it is a beautiful secenery and good food.

While I have not been to the Ritz, I can guess to say that there is no comparision to Sandals. they are on totally different levels. Ritz is considered the top resort in Jamaica.

Not to say Royal is not nice, as it is. It has a great romantic, laid back and relaxing atmosphere. The off shore island is great - excellent during the day as not alot of people go out there. The top suite is very spacious and right on the water. For pic's of Royal, try www.tropictravelonline.com

Sandals Royal Caribbean is at the bottom of my list - tried it twice and the food was so bad the cat's wouldn't eat it.
Some guests had very legitimate complaints and the GM could have cared less.
I would definitely book the Ritz. You will not be disappointed.
