Royal Plantation or Couples Swept Away?
My husband and I are planning a 5 night getaway in either Jan/Feb this year. I posted my wants in a post the other day (beautiful beach/large clean oceanfront room, NOT a party like atmonsphere with lots of large groups of people hanging by the poolside bar who can get quite loud-what we've witnessed at Sandals resorts the 2 times we've been there. Another poster (Thanks Jackie) recommended Couples Swept away as did our travel agent along with Royal Plantation being another great option for us. Royal Plantation was quoted $700 higher for a Luxury Oceanfront Jr Suite ($3332.00 per couple without airfare than Couples Swept Away ($2630 per couple for an Oceanfront Verandah Suite without airfare).
I've heard good things about both places so I'm torn between the two. The only thing that turns me off about RP is that the pool and beach area look very small.
For those that've been to both, could you please list your favorite, pros and cons of both; AND, if you like RP better, would you say it's worth the big price difference?
Thanks for you help.

Wanted to let you know that my husband and I were at Swept Away many years ago (before it was a Couples), and we liked it very much (we split our time between it and the Negril Sandals down the beach a bit-- which we hated). Just one word of warning if you do choose Swept Away. The only rooms worth booking imo (unless you simply don't mind traffic noise) are the ones closest to the beach. Most of the accommodations are much much too close to the road to be peaceful. Good luck; have fun.

jlbrn,
Even though I haven't been to RP...just a thought .... Is that price for RP an all inclusive price ?? I believe that they're just a European plan resort now, but maybe they do offer an AI package...

p.s re: rooms @ CSA -- In May, our friends stayed in an Garden Verandah Suites (new rooms) & we were in an Atrium room (old rooms). I actually preferred the older rooms; they just seemed to have a bit more character than our friends' room. However, the new Verandah rooms have TVs & mini-fridges in them, if you like those things.
The new pool & swim-up bar & 2 new hottubs on either side of the new pool were very nice.
