Restaurant Reservations Needed in St. John?
The last time we were in St. John was in 2009 and in August so I can't remember if we needed restaurant reservations for places in Cruz Bay. This time we're going in January when the island will be more crowded. Thoughts?

I agree with roamsaround. Depends on where you go. I would make a reservation at the high end places or if you have a large party. The day before would probably be fine. I just got back. Ate at The Lime Inn, Rhumblines, High Tide, Da Livio and a new place called Virgin Fire. All were excellent meals. If you like thin crust pizza definitely try Da Livio's. Delicious. They have a wood burning stove on the patio. The old JJ's reopened right after I left and has been renovated. Getting great reviews so far. Apparently good breakfast fare, now called Cruz Bay Landing.

We were there last March. Had luck getting into every restaurant with no reservation except for Zozo's at Gallows Point. There you have to reserve a seat at the bar because the view is so great!
FYI - our absolutely favorite place was FATTY CRAB. Very different, fresh vibe, upscale but very eclectic food and actually reasonable prices.
