Yountville restaurant reservations

Does anyone know when restaurants will start making reservations for late July? I'm deciding between Redd or Ad Hoc, and OpenTable says its too far out for both. Thanks!

Doesn't mean you can't get a reservation, it's just that Open Table will not do it. Did you call the restaurants??

We been to both and prefer Ad Hoc.

While REDD had a more diverse menu, Ad Hoc's one size fits all was very good.

A little less formal too.

I heard the funniest story about a person who always made reservations at a really nice restaurant .
They were very demanding and always wanted freebies..so the chef/owners told the desk not to have reservations for them whenever they called.
So they started using Open Table and got in anyway ! lol

That was when I first heard about Open Table.

I do think you should call the restaurant though, just to be sure you don't miss out on whichever one you have your heart set on

Hola Kal

Scarlett...
I found that it seems the person sitting next to you at any bar or restaurant in Napa/Sonoma in grungy old clothes, ball hat and being very low key are sometimes the very wealthy winemakers that put the place on the map...and the ones that yap away, demand things and flaunt their "quasi richness" are usually just wanna bees.

beckyT, you do know what type of menu Th. Keller has at Ad hoc, yah?

TT- ><

Yes, I am familiar with the four course fixed menu. My husband and I like just about everything so I think it will work for us, and sounds fun and different. The reviews I've read for Redd seem more positive overall, and the wine list posted online has some reasonable prices- we are not at point in life where want to spend 100+ for wine . I'm going to try to get a reservation at both and will cancel one later.

Kal - your description of the winemaker? It fits a very close and longtime friend of ours who is the largest landowner in Napa County. He lives in Yountville, where his family's winery is located and is one of Keller's investors. No bravado on his part. No ball hat but he does always wear a hat. Nice clothes, not grungy but certainly not 5th Avenue. Here's a token smiley just for you Hope it doesn't "tick" you off. \/

B'tex,
Good to go!

TT,
Prob the same people we've sat next to at the bars in the old PJ's Steakhouse, Bouhcon's and most recently Hurley's.

I like to tell people I actually had b'fast w/ Mr. Rombauer at Pac Blues Cafe our last trip down there.
Of course, he was with his family at a table next to us....***LOL***

With the way restaurants are saying they are hurting you'd figure they'd jump at the chance.

Or maybe their ressie software won't let them?

We've been going to Hurley's in Y'ville ever since it opened and it's always good just in case.

Never hurts to have a

sheeesh TTess, even I "got it"..........

32 posts in Fodors/TripAdvisor per day who has time to travel all over the west coast, or for that matter EAT????

Seriously, we've never had trouble getting a reservation just one or two weeks out at any of the above mentioned restaurants.

Psst! Corina - LoveItaly once told me I was entitled to blonde moments. It was a very brief one. Kal, keeps me in stitches. The board would be boring without him.

Kal - I hope you're enjoying the beautiful weather. It's been overcast and cold here, all week.

Kal - I'm in Carmel. If we're around at that time, it would be fun to get together.

By the way, the friends I previously spoke of just told me that Robert Mondavi died today, RIP O and cheers to a great life! My brother-in-law is their CPA, he's going to have an interesting time with the numbers.
