when to make dinner reservations for trip in dec.

I'm finishing up some of my plans for my trip to nyc from Dec.8-11th. I wanted to know how early I should call to make dinner reservations for after the theater to Joe Allen and Angus McIndoe. Also reservations for afternoon tea at St. Regis and lunch at La Bonne. I know Dec. is very busy so I wasn't sure if a month before is to soon or just a week before.
Thanks

It really depends on the policy for each restaurant. Some restaurants (usually lower priced) may not have any policy and will take your reservation at any time. Others, it may be one month to the day, 4 weeks, two months, etc. You get the idea. You can call each restaurant and ask or check their website, but many don't post it. My guess, from your list, is that the one that you should look into, is the St. Regis. If you're inquiring, ask them what time in the morning they begin to take them. You really need that type of info for the 'hottest' or most exclusive restaurants. I hope this helps. You may want to use Open Table to make the theater ones.

None of the places you mention are what I'd call "hot" restaurants. I don't think La Bonne Soup accepts reservations at all. Even if you make reservations at these places now by phone, I would reconfirm closer to your trip.

You can book Angus McIndoe on Open Table, which I would do now.
Apparently you can book Joe Allen only for the month of October.

The places you're looking at range from casuale to basic sandwich shop - and long advance reservations are defiintely not needed
