Recommend villa below $1600 per week
I am looking to rent a villa for my husband I summer of 2006. We'd like to stay below $1600 for a week. Important to us are privacy, AC in bedrooms & great views. Can anyone make any recommendations?
I was looking at Honeymoon Cottage but it is not available the week I need. Thanks!

For those who won't recognize, OP is looking for a villa on St. John.
You might try www.stjohnlinks.com or www.vrbo.com
If you opt for something in the Coral Bay area, the prices might be a little more affordable.
We've stayed at John's Folly Cottages and enjoyed it. I know they've changed owners since we were there in 2004, but that should be in your budget.
Also check out Bananna Wind, which looks nice and seems to be at a good price.
I've booked Little Plantation (on vrbo) for 2 weeks next May, but their lowest price is $1800 per week. That villa is also 2 bedroom+ with pool.
Without amenities like pool, you should easily be able to find a villa that fits your budget.
Good luck! St. John is our favorite paradise!

Thanks for the suggestions. I will take a look at all.
glogodschild--we'd really rather not do a condo because part of what we want is true privacy...no really close neighbors so we don't have to worry about what we wear on the deck etc. I'm fine with being toward Coral Bay...we're not night life people at all. We will plan on cooking most meals so a decent kitchen would be helpful. It doesn't need to be gourmet.

www.calabashcottage.com
Sago Cottage rents for 1,225 in low season.
Perfect for two people.
The owners of these villas live on the island. They are very nice to work with.
We stayed at Windwardside main house and loved it. Sago was booked for the week we wanted.
The 3 rentals are in Coral bay and you need a jeep.
The website is good but in person it's better.
Check it out and good luck.
