Rates for Caneel Bay, Can this be right?

From the many posts on Caneel Bay, my husband and I would like to spend our 5th anniversary at Caneel Bay, Scott's Beach. From their website, I'm bringing up rates of $1268 per night!!! Yikes! The dates were Jan 24, 2004-Jan 31, 2004. Can this be right? I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

that is correct cottage 7 $1100.00 per night plus tax and grat.

it's HIGH season!

You can try luxurylink, don't know if Caneel has any auctions. Usually jan - March is not "special" season.

The rate you quoted is the Allure package which includes the following, "Seven night package for two includes full breakfast and dinner daily, champagne upon arrival, couples massage, Self Centre session (meditation, yoga, breathing and imagery), a five-course, private starlight dinner, snorkel cruise and beach barbecue, sunset cocktail cruise, private sunset champagne and hors d'oeuvres picnic, roundtrip airport transfers, room tax and service charges."
The ROOM RATE for those dates for beachfront is $825.

For that kind of money. Why don't you rent a beautiful villa. We saw Caneel when we were there and although, it's very lovely. A villa far surpasses it for privacy, room and views......

Floridabound: Good thought. Any information on a villa would be most appreciated.

Mermaid: Right on, that was the Allure Package.

And SandyFeet: Have decided to put this trip into 2005 and spend the end of January at the Royal Hideaway in Playacar.

I'll need another year for my cookie jar to expand! Thanks to all.

Even though the rates for Caneel are so high, keep in mind that you'll have easy walking access to all the great beaches on their property.
