rainy in february

i've been looking at the weather forecast for antigua as well as some other nearby islands and it's very discouraging. the prediction is for lots of rain. i have never had an experience of going to the caribbean in february where it was raining for more than a short period of time during the week i stay there. anybody have any "insight"?

I am going to St. Lucia next week and I have noticed the same thing. I have been going to the caribbean in Feb. for 5 years now and have never had enough rain to spoil anything. Don't worry Putch... the sun will shine !!

Feb. is one of the driest months of the year in the Caribbean. Weather forecasts beyond the next couple days are generic there, meaning they always call for rain/showers to cover the possibility that you might get a few minutes of showers from time to time.
Not to worry.

i think you're being a bit optimistic saying that weather reports are generic. in past years, i've checked the forecasts are they've always being very boring with the same sunny 85 degree weather predicted for each day. i hope you're right and we see it shine the last week in february

I hope you’re right, too. We’re leaving on Sun (that is, if we can take off – the storm will hit us right around the time we’re supposed to take off) – hope we don’t miss our connecting flight in San Juan

Just returned on Sat 15th from two weeks in Antigua. I had the same feeling looking at the weather before I left but I can assure you that the weather was fantastic. It was always warm, day or night. I brought a jacket, just in case, and never used it once. There were showers some days (not every day) but mostly at night and only for a few minutes at a time - not really an issue, even when caught on the golf course with no umbrella or rain-gear. However, take shelter as the showers can be heavy.
