Questions about PR/Vieques in august!

Hi
i have a few questions i was hoping someone could help me out with:
1. is it a bad idea to plan a trip for a week in augst to PR? whats the chances of hitting a hurricane? and how much in advance would you know if there is one coming? i would hate to spend my entire week in the rain!
2. is it feasible to get to culebra from vieques for a day trip? i plan to stay at vieques but i thought i might check out flamenco beach at culebra.
3. i was going to do the bio bay thing. someone told me theres a 70% chance of being bit by a jellyfish in the water..is that true?
4. since its off season, can i just book a car/hotel when i get there? i figure id wing it in case i have to cancel bc of a hurricane...

THANKS A LOT!!!!

1. I've traveled during hurricane season and didn't have any problems. I'm no weather expert but it seems like we get pretty good notice atleast here in the Carolinas. Check weather.com for historical info and buy trip insurance.
2. I believe there is a ferry that goes to Culebra from Vieques but it doesn't run very often. There are 2 pretty good websites for Vieques, one being enchanted isle.com or something. Can't recall the other one. I'm sure if you do a little research you'll find them. They have ferry info.
3. Never heard of that. Did biobay - it was awesome.
4. I would still reserve car/hotel in advance. There are not many hotels and its becoming more & more travel destination.

I live in Vieques and run a Bio -Bay tour company, Aqua-Frenzy Kayaks Vieques. You can take the ferry daily at 6:00 a.m. and return at 5o p.m.
As far as Jellyfish, that's a pretty reckless statement, saying that their is a good chance of being stung by a Jellyfish is like saying there is is a good chance of you getting struck by Lightning! It's totally unpredictable,as is anything in life. Please come and enjoy the most awesome display of Bio-luminescence around, besides, after We came here last October for a vacation at the whyndham resort, we packed up and moved to Vieques all Inside of 90 Days-Got here on January 1, 2004, New Year's day.we love it here and I love Taking out Tours of the Bio-Bay, It's truly one of the Wonders of The World!

As far as Aqua frenzy's website,it's still under Construction.Let me say that we ARE NOT affiliated whith That "herron'Elana' golden something" Company! We are Aqua Frenzy Kayaks Vieques, owned by Tim Raymond, not Elana Humphries. If anyone has any questions about booking tours, transportation, lodging, etc, please call 787-741-0913, and speak with Tim or Scott. Thanks, and always enjoy Vieques!

You never know about the weather. We went to St. Thomas in November (8-10 years ago) and we had a hurricane and it was after Hurricane Thanksgiving! As soon as the airport reopened we hoped on a plane to San Juan. It was a lot better in San Juan than on other islands. Some places took weeks to recover. Nancy
