Planning a trip to Jamaica for my daughter's graduation

I would really appreciate any help/advice I can get. My daughter will graduate in 2017, and I am starting to research a trip to Jamaica for her graduation. We have never been to Jamaica. The trip will include my husband, daughters ages 18 and 12, and myself. I would like an all inclusive. We will be going April 3-8. We like a nice beach area with excursion opportunities. We like a variety of food...we aren't picky. The hotel must be clean, not in need of a refurbishment, and we'd like a resort with shopping on property or nearby. We would like to spend $3,000-$5,000 on the resort (minus the airfare)...Of course, the cheaper the better, but since this is a once in a lifetime celebration, we are trying to be flexible. Thanks for any advice!

Hi there,

I'm new here but i'll share my thoughts. My recommendation would be the Half Moon Hotel. That's one of those places you go if you want to have everything at the resort. It's also in Montego Bay, which is about an hour between Negril and Ocho Rios. The plus side to this is that if you want to take the family for an adventure at the Mystic Mountains (Ochi Rios) it's not too far out, and if you want to go to the water park in negril, or just go there just because, it's not too far either.

Ps. It's also located near the Rose Hall Great House. You guys migt have fun there.

Hope I helped somewhat

What made you pick Jamaica? Is there a special reason you've chosen that island?

I like Negril a LOT myself, but it doesn't really fit the kind of experience you're seeking.

Have you considered a cruise? They are lovely in the Caribbean at that time of year. They are within your budget, basically all inclusive and visit some fun beaches with shopping.
