Looking for a 1 week beach vacation that is equally as luxurious as it is remote with beautiful beaches and excellent food. Will spend up to $750/night....I have narrowed it to Peter Island Resort, Petit St. Vincent and/or Biras Creek...<BR><BR>Can anyone recommend one of those or perhaps something differeng? Im an Anguilla lover looking for a change of pace!<BR><BR>Thanks!

Martha:<BR><BR>Of the three, I've only been to Biras. However, I can assure you Biras meets all of your qualifications. We did consider Peter Island as well.<BR><BR>All three resorts are accessed via boat so they're obviously remote. However, the complimentary Boston Whalers at Biras add even a more remote feel. My wife and I would spend afternoons on other islands with absolutely secluded beaches.<BR><BR>Should you decide to visit a bit of civilization, you can always do a small taxi tour of Virgin Gorda. We did enjoy a morning trip over to the Baths one day via taxi. <BR><BR>The food at Biras was 5-star every night -- absolutely incredible. They had a good wine list as well. <BR><BR>Good luck with your planning.

Since you're looking for a beach vacation you may want to choose a place located on the beach. I just read a report where someone said Biras wasn't located on a good beach, and they complained about having to bicycle to a swimming beach.

Martha:<BR><BR>Tracy's correct in that you have to bicycle to the swimming beach. It's certainly not a long ride and actually my wife and I enjoyed riding around the resort. It was a great opportunity to "work off" the great meals. <BR><BR>The cottages are located on a separate beach that that has a good amount of surf for the sounds of the ocean at night. The swim beach is protected and calm with a separate beach bar and numerous palapas.

Had some friends just come back from Peter Island on their honeymoon and absolutely raved about it! I wish we would have gone there...it rained the entire time in Jamaica!

We just returned from a week at Peter Island. We absolutely loved it, and would return without hesitation. It took us about 2 hours after our arrival to feel like we were away from the world. Amazing beaches, excellent food, superb staff.<BR><BR>The island is certainly remote with ample space between you and your fellow beachgoers - no one within 20 yards of your space. When we did want to interact, the bar/restaurant at the beach and the lobby were nice places to meet other de-stressing travelers over a nice pina colada. <BR><BR>The staff is fantastic. We wish that we could single out one person for their efforts, but everyone there is at such a high level that nobody stood out. We think that is a huge plus.<BR><BR>Food is very good. The resort has two restaurants, but does a very nice job of mixing things up - buffet galas on some nights, wine dinner on Thursdays, steel bands on the beach several days/nights. We didn't eat the same dish during the entire week.<BR><BR>Deadman's Beach is probably one of the best we have ever been to.<BR><BR>Overall, a highly recommended place to spend a week. Post any questions you have - we'll try to answer them.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed PSV, it was for us a dream come true.. Extremely beautiful, all the privacy you would want with excellent food and service.. only complaint was the trek to get there..

We loved Biras - the beach it's on is actually really nice and the bikes were great, but the real kicker at Biras (as mentioned above) is the use of the Boston Whalers. We, too, had our own deserted beach whenever we wanted. We even once anchored over a reef for some killer snorkeling. I've never experienced anything like it. Also, we took advantage of some of their day trips, which were also great. The food is incredible, the whole ambience is sooo romantic.

Everytime I read about Biras Creek people rave about the Boston Whalers. I would find that intimidating. I've never driven a boat in my life. I'm intrigued though. Do they just hand you the keys or is there some instruction first? Is it first come first serve or do you make reservations for a boat?

It's really straightforward - they show you how to drive and turn you loose. They are push start motors with a stick to steer - really easy. Also, you're not out in the middle of nowhere if something happens. It really is a unique experience - wonderful!!<BR><BR>As to how you get one, they are first come first serve, but you can make a reservation and we never had trouble getting one when we wanted one. Also, your food is included, and they'll make you a gourmet picnic lunch to take out on the boat with you!

Petit St. Vincent was incredible. The service was impeccable - friendly, but allowed complete privacy if you're so inclined. If you want to be sociable, there are always guests and often the resort owners in the bar/lounge. The food was excellent. You can walk around the island and feel like you're alone. We joked when we saw footprints that someone was on our island. The cottages were wonderful. Can't say enough about PSV.
