OceanSong Eleuthera - any feedback?

Hello all:

Has anyone had any experiences with this rental. There are some good feedback on the property but I would like to know more.

We are planning to go to Eleuthera for a week in late August and looking for something (apartments with full kitchen) for about $800 a week. Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
E & P

Have you considered Cat Island (www.catislandboathouse.com)?

foodiechan, I realize it's been a couple of weeks since your inquiry, but I googled your villa and I'm wondering about the location. Location in Eleuthera waterfront will either mean directly on the breezy side - the Atlantic Ocean, or on the Exuma sound side of the island, very flat and calm. This is a quote from their listing:

"Oceansong is a waterfront villa with spectacular ocean views and it's tropical color adds to it's bahamian charm. Oceansong is located on reefs only a few feet from the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean where you can swim, snorkel or fish for dinner. The villa sports a deck over looking the ocean"

Yet, the website map shows a tiny house icon on the sound side. That's important to me - I prefer the ocean side. So I'd want that cleared up. It irks me when they refer to the Caribbean, as the Bahamas are not in the Caribbean. Also, it said "one mile" to the nearest beach. I would prefer beachfront (very doable on Eleuthera), whether sound or ocean side.

Other than that, it looks like a charming cottage at a very good price. Rainbow Bay is kind of remote, there are more shops and more of a village feel in the Governor's Harbor/Palmetto Point area.

Hope this helps!

I forgot to mention a private home rental in Cat Island by the name of Shangri la. Up the beach from the "Boathouse"in Pigeon Cay a number of miles in Bennetts Harbor, it is also very nice.
