NYC TO ATLANTIS......
My 2 boys ages 10 and 6 and I will be in the (controversial) Atlantis Resort staying at the Coral Towers the end of this month. I would like to get recommendation where to dine both at the resort and outside. It doesn't matter to us if it is "hole in the wall, a dive or a formal restaurant" as long as the food is palatable. Please give me an idea what to expect....

Across the street from Atlantis you'll find Anthony's Caribbean Grill, good food and a Childrens Menu. Just a block down the street is Hurricane Hole Plaza, you'll find the News Cafe (deli/coffee shop), Cozy Corner, Zio Gigi(italian/Pizza) and in the marina the Green Parrot (bar) and Grill, which allows kid in the early hours.
The Blue Marlin is in the same Plaza, and has decent food, and a fun native show for an additional $10 pp. Family fun.
In Nassau, theres' Senor Frogs(mexican), Conch Fritters, Crocodiles or the Poop Deck. Dominos delivers, and you'll even find a chinese restaurant at the foot of the bridge in Nassau.
There's plenty of good food outside of Atlantis for a reasonable price.
For a nice dinner, head to Cafe Matisse outdoor Garden. Wonderful food, and the "little gentlemen" will be fine there.

Tamara gave you some good restaurants, but we really didn't like the Blue Marlin at all. Within the Atlantis resort we love Villa D'Este, but I don't think you'd want to go there with young children. You might want to try Murray's Deli. For lunch both The Cave and Burger Digs which are out by the pools have some good salads and sandwiches. Also the Lagoon Bar and Grille had some very good lunch choices and a wonderful view.

I haven't been impressed with the restaurants at the Atlantis, the exception being the Chinese restaurant (can't recall the name). It was pretty decent food, nice atmosphere and not as expensive as some of the other restaurants at the hotel.

Absoultely MUST eat at the 24 hour buffet in the Atlantis. It is relatively pricey, but they have absolutely everything you can imagine to eat there. The stir fry bar where you pick your own rice/veggies/meat was fantastic, and the fountain of chocolate for dipping was lots of fun (I'm sure your boys will get a kick out of that!).
