Just got back from the Atlanis on Friday; I would suggest Carmines which is in the Marina Village adjacent to the resort. It is the same family style Italian restaurant that is on the upper west side of NYC; tell your waiter you are having a birthday and order a cake; they have this great bahamian junkanoo style "happy birthday" serenade when they bring your cake; dinner is served family style so each entree serves at least 4 people (ex: $46 for chicken marsala; mid $30's for pasta dishes). Make a reservation a few days in advance.

Lucianos would be a wonderful treat.
Ask for outdoor dining. It's across the bridge in nassau, but worth it.

Also, Blue Lagoon at Club Land'or for an upscale dining experience.
Cafe Matisse on Bank Street would also fit the bill.

I'd suggest the Poop Deck as a good local restaurant, with good food, and service.
If you want an amazing (and yes expensive) Greycliff's would be wonderful. It is the only 5 star restaurant in the region. White glove service and beautiful atmosphere.
Have a GREAT time.

We had reservations (had to cancel) when we were there several years ago at The One & Only Ocean Club/House which was supposed to be great. It has reciprocal arrangements with Atlantis. I think scenes from the newest James Bond movie were filmed there.

I hope you have better luck than I had on my birthday. My husband made reservations for Cafe Martinique and confirmed and even had to give a credit card no. When we arrived at the restaurant it was locked, we finally found out that the restaurant was closed for renovations. On a Saturday night in December, we had trouble finding an alternate, Atlantis put us in Cafe Dangelo but it was a big disappointment. I would never eat at another Atlantis restaurant again.

I'd stay away from Atlantis dining for special occasions, they are bright, busy and overcrowded (as well as overpriced).
They are notorius for not honoring reservations, closing restaurants without notice for the day and just bad management.
