Hi, we have used the ferry between St. Kitts and Nevis, the trip over takes about 45 minutes. The biggest challenge is getting on the ferry with all your luggage, you have to bring big items to the back and it was difficult to manoever in the crush of people -- pack light -- we had golf clubs and large suitcases and not enough hands!

The ferry crew will assist you with loading the luggage - all you really have to do is leave the large items on the dock (a little to the side of) where you board and the crew will take it from there. Don't worry, there will be plenty of other people doing the same thing. They will off-load it for you when you reach Charlestown (or Basseterre on the way back). Also, there are always a few people hanging around by the ticket kiosk and/or near the entrance to the dock that will gladly help you with your luggage - a small tip for them is all that is necessary.
