Negril, Ochos Rios or Montego Bay and WHY??
I'm planning on going to Jamaica in June. What is nicer Negril, Ochos Rios or Montego Bay? Basically, I'm looking for an all-inclusive resort that offers a great beach, excellent food and beautiful surroundings. My husband and I don't care much for night life although it would be nice for it to be available.

Also, which all-inclusive resort would fit my needs and wants??

For the "why" of one area or the other, I'd check out this page:

http://jamaicans.com/tourist/overview/index.htm

Couples Negril ! Was there over Thanksgiving and returning next year as well. Ochos Rios beaches do not compare, rocky and reefy. Mo Bay too busy and surroundings so-so
Go to MO BAY take Jamaica AIr to Negril $120 rdtp, 15 min flight. WORTH THE EXTRA TIME AND $$. You will be happy there.....

WE have been to all area's you list a number of times and agree that NEgril is by far the better part of the island. Water is much calmer and beaches longer and softer. Area offers tons to see and do but a a more laid back pace then the two larger area's.

We stayed at Grand Lido Negril. It is luxurious and pampering without being stuffy, laid back, relaxing, first class food and service and beautiful rooms and suites. Nightlife is slower then at Couples or other all-inclusives but jsut beautiful. There is a yacht for sunset cruises (Princess' Grace and Prince Rainer's honeymoon yacht), whirlpools in the gardens and a beautiful beach.

Highly recommend.

Mary, the food at Couples Negril was pretty good, (I wasn't expecting that!), they had everything from buffet style dinner, to fresk jerk chicken, salmon, to salad bars, huge breakfasts, or you have the option to fill out the card hanging on your door, hang it on the outside of the door before you go to sleep, and you will get breakfast delivered right to your room, so you can enjoy on the balcony or patio, or you can go down to the Cassava terrace to eat breakfast.

The beach is gorgeous, so well maintained, hammocks throughout the beach area, even a few hidden in the trees.

Snorkeling, I believe you do out a bit further than the beach area, I didn't notice anyone snorkeling close to shore.

Anything else, please ask

Tim, if yu are asking me these questions, here ya go..lol

We flew out of Albany, NY , to Charlotte and then onto Montego Bay, JA.

The cost of the trip for us (5nights, 6 days), was about $3,200.00, (we went right before high season, went from December 2-8), it was lovely!

For day trips, they had a shopping trip to Negril, the had scuba diving, snorkeling, the glass bottom boat ride, the catamaran cruise, sailing, kayaking, parasailing(dont know if that one was included in the all inclusive), and waterskiing.

Negril is beautiful and not as touristy. I have been there many times. There is a Beaches, Sandils, Couples, and probably more than I can remember. Nice and safe. If you go, e-mail me and I will give you names and numbers of people to drive you and pick you up from the airport that I know.
