Riu Negril or Gran Bahia Runaway Bay?
We are planning a trip/wedding for next November and would like to know what people think about these two All Inclusive resorts (Riu Negril or Gran Bahia Runaway Bay). I have heard wonderful things about both, but of course I have heard terrible things as well. I just need some more input as my head is now swimming!
**Please keep in mind that we will be bringing our daughter who will be about 18 months at that time. However, it will be a younger crowd as it is our wedding, and we will have plenty of adult time as Grandma will be there to watch her!

I was not impressed with The RIU Tropical Bay in Negril. We've been to 15 AI resorts and it is on the bottom of our list. I would go with the Gran Bahia Runaway Bay of the two you listed. We actually drove by that resort last week on our way to a tour and it looked nice. Don't know anything about the actual resort though.
Look at Sunset at the Palms. It's geared for adults, but it's not adult's only. I'm not sure about the minimum age though. It would be my choice for an AI honeymoon/wedding in Negril.

I've been to Negril quite a bit, and have never heard good things about RIU Negril. Unless you need a big property because of the wedding size, you might want to consider some of the smaller properties on the beach like Coco La Palm, Idle Awhile, or The Charela Inn. Food in Negril is quite good and pretty cheap. And some of the restaurants on the cliffs offer the added bonus of spectacular sunsets. Good luck and congratulations!
