I haven't seen or heard that, mhcatl. I also live on a Dutch island so the story is covered in our local paper nearly every day and that is one thing that I've not seen. However, maybe the Equusearch team member reported the conversation to the US media and not the Dutch/Caribbean media.

Diana, it is not naive, it is called hope.

I too, always hope for the best.

Prayers and for this family, and all those with loved ones that are missing.

Just read that it could take up to 1 and 1/2 weeks to get the DNA results from the duct tape and from the 3 suspects. We all will be waiting.......

This quote: " was watching fox news last night and they were interviewing the Equusearch guy and he mentioned that Joran had admitted burying the body though he gave the incorrect location..." explains why I say if you watch Fox "news" you better get out the salt shaker....little fact but lots of blowhard reporting.

A person with two DNAs is called a chimera. I saw this on the TV show CSI (the original CSI from Vegas). This occurs when two fertilized eggs merge which is the opposite of what happens to identical twins. Both DNAs are also very similar.

I never researched the subject but I do believe that the TV show is correct.

Here are a few of my thoughts....

1. No place is totally safe. Aruba had a reputation for affordable safety which is an issue to many travellers.

2. Maybe she is alive. I heard of another Aruba abduction years ago. Two years after that abduction an American girl whispered to an American tourist in Caracas, Venezuela, "I am (abduction victim). Please help me. I am from (correct USA hometown)." It was too late when authorities arrived. Is this possible? Do many Americans go to Caracas?

3. Alot of trouble happens in the middle of the night especially when alcohol is involved. This is not limited to violence against women. It includes auto accidents, robbery, and wrong-place wrong-time incidents. Can you let your hair down fully when away from home? Certainly not.

4. There are places everywhere that people should simply not go to. In my neck of the woods (NY) I know what to avoid and what not to. In other places I don't know so I am guarded.

5. My are kids growing up fast. I am 40 now. When I was a senior in HS I would have never dreamed of asking for a fly-away trip to a resort. There were a few privileged kids who took fly-away vacations without their parents but these trips were educational in nature, not to party. Don't slam me. I'm not making a judgement here. I am just observing of how things change so quickly. I was at Natalee's point in life in early 1982, not too long ago.

I hope and pray that Natalee is safe.

I also saw the CSI that was about a guy having 2 DNA's.It was true to real life by what the show that I saw the other night said.

I agree with you about how things have changed..I am 34 yrs old. When I was 16,17 and 18..I went to Myrtle Beach for Spring Break but with a family friend chaperone.I could not imagine letting my kids (now 10,7 and 2)travel on a plane to some place out of the US for Spring Break when they are older. There are too many weirdos in this world today.
