Luxury resort in Feb (no kids)
Looking for a 5 star resort that doesn't have a kids program. No offense, but we do not have kids and we do not want to be around them on our vacation. CuisinArt in Anguilla sounds perfect otherwise. Any other ideas? We are looking to relax with each other, be pampered (spa at resort would be nice), and lay on beach - prices can be high, we do not care! Good dining required on the island; no nightlife required. Thanks!

Yes... I guess its kind of risky. The wind usually picks up in Feb-March, can be a little cooler than the other months, but you could also have great weather. I guess I wouldn't spend that kind of money in Feb. I would go for it in April- July. I didn't realize you wanted to go in Feb Sorry.

In this day and age it is becomming very difficult to find an upscale resort that enforces a no-children policy because many self-centered "me generation" parents think those types of policies don't apply to them.
That said, check out Sandy Lane on Barbados - it's very upscale, has everything you want and you rarely see children at that resort.
Sorry if my comment might offend some but over the years there have been numerous posts from people seeking an adults only resort only to add that they want to bring their "well behaved" kids - sounds incongruent but it does happen - and you'd be surprised at how much support those people get from some of the contributors.

Hi,
Look into some of the gorgeous new resorts in Turks & Caicos and Dominican Republic. Both destinations are really working to build their upscale/luxury business and doing a beautiful job. Turks & Caicos have amazing spas!
You might also look at St. Barths, lovely luxury hotels, sophisticated, elegant, upscale. St. Barths is expensive, which really excludes many families.
Best Regards,
Julia

Thanks for the replies - they are very helpful! I am almost ready to book The Palms in Turks/Caicos but am apprehensive due to the cooler weather. (Although I am in Chicago and it is 25 degrees right now so 70's doesn't sound too bad!) Sandy Lanes - one of my finalists but it is booked the week we want to go. I also have an option of St. Thomas Ritz but it sounds too loud - we really need a relaxing time. We also can switch our dates to stay at CuisinArt (Anguilla) - our original choice - to avoid the Presidential Day weekend (never knew that was a big travel holiday). Any thoughts on those options?

President's week is indeed a big travel week in the Caribbean, probably second only to Christmas/New Years with many places book mothns if not a year in advance. Lot's of families travelling at that time so if you want to avoid children at your resort and you can travel at another time you would be wise to do so.
As previously said the T&C's can be cool in February and since you are dealing with mother nature there's no way to predict what will happen the week or so you are planning to travel. You'll probably get some acnecdotal information from fellow travellers who visited the T&C's in February and experienced warm weather but that doesn't mean there couldn't be a cool snap the week you are going. Likewise you'll get others telling you to avoid the area because it can be cool. Sorry but one cannpt give you any guarantees. It's one of the risks you have to be ready to take if you choose the T&C's in February.
Since you indicated a willingness to change your travel dates I'd avoid President's Week and by doing so you'll also increase your chances of not seeing any families with young children during your vacation. If you do decide to go outside of President's Week Cusinart on Anguilla would be an excellent choice for you.

Peter Island "discourages" children under a certain age (can't remember what age). However I did see some children there, ( A traveller’s logic applies here) but to be fair they were very well behaved, more so then some of those "me generation" adults vacationing there.
Also, they have a great spa and the food was excellent.

About the Presidents Day weekend: One year we booked a trip to Tobago to avoid that holiday, figuring that would guarantee fewer children. Well, 90%+ of tourists to Tobago are English, and of course, they don't celebrate this U.S. holiday. However, they have another "school vacation week" or somesuch around that time. So, if you go to an island with a lot of English tourists, check those dates; otherwise the resort pool will be full of kids and you won't be able to use it. We ended up there during the U.K. holiday. Sigh.

Warning: Palms gets tons of kids!
For less kids, check out
omerset, Point Grace or Turks and Caicos Club. (Although T&C Club is not really 5 star-more self catering.) You may also want ot check out Grace Bay Club.
So far in Jan, it's stayed in mid 80's here! 8-)

I was at Bucuti Bay in Aruba last night for an end of conference concert and did a site inspection... great rooms, great staff, focussed on romantic breaks for adults only.
Not quite as high end as a couple of the luxury resorts that are normally mentioned on this board, but gorgeous rooms, fantastic beach and I am sure you'd get great service from the owners and staff there.
Just a thought

Biras Creek allows children over 8. While there 4-5 weeks ago I saw only 3 children (but this was 8 days before Christmas) but I would guess 1 or 2 were 5 or 6 yrs. old. I am not sure how a resort can turn someone away if they arrive with a 6 year old?
