Lodging in Vieques
Hi, We are going to Vieques the early part of December for a week. Has anyone stayed at a villa they really liked? A/C is a must for us. I really don't think I care which side of the island, although most of the rentals seem to be on the north. I'm interested in a villa so I can at least make breakfast. Thanks, Owa

Hi owa,
We rented a house on Vieques that was on a hill with a pool but no a/c. Didn't miss it either with a hilltop breeze and this was in July. We were about a 5 minute drive from Isabel where several restaurants and the main grocery store is located. I would definately recommend a house for breakfast and your own cocktail, too. We never cooked dinner but did enjoy afternoon snacks and drinks -- at a much cheaper price, too. The house we rented is being renovated so I don't believe it is available. I did get the info from enchanted-isle.com. Both websites posted above are helpful.
Nice island. Hope you enjoy all the beautiful beaches there.

OH OK..We stayed in Casa Monserrat a couple of years ago.We went thru Crows Nest Realty and Sheila Levin was great!
The house was very nice. We did not have air conditioning and never felt the need for it.The house stayed very cool and we were there in June... The grounds were very well manicured and taken care of and it was also gated. They had palm fralms (that's what I call them)trees, flowers and it was very beautiful.
The house had a private swimming pool which we loved with a great view over the hillside and on a clear day you could see all the way to Sun Beach.
Wonderful.
We rented a jeep and drove all over looking for hidden beaches. All of them were gorgeous.
Such a fun, adventurous trip! Vieques has to be one of the most 'tropical' islands I've ever seen.
Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did!
