Anyone have experince renting a house/condo?

I'm in the tentative stage of planning our very first family vacation (with the kids as adults).

We have to go at the end of the college year (middle of May). I was thinking Florida, as it doesn't get hot here till June at least.

I am looking at houses/condo for obvious reasons - we can all stay together.

I was also looking at St. Augustine. I haven't been there in years and the rest of the family has never been. We could combine beach and sightseeing.

Does anyone have experience with a reputable agency for house/condo rentals?

Thanks in advance.

Go to: www.vrbo.com

These are vacation homes that are rented by the owners. We have used them many times successfully.

We did the same this past July in Port Aransas, Tx had a great time. We dealt with a local management company as most of the area along the beach seems to be rentals may not be. Anyway vrbo usually has a wide varity only thing I've heard is be sure and get all the info you can from the owner.

Angethereader:
as mentioned vrbo is one company or you could do a search for "vacation rental" they have anything from studios to bedrooms to hold a small army make sure when you start doing you search you ask how much they want for cleaning many of them do have a standard rate ($80 - $100+) also if you rent a house with a pool they may ask you if you want it heated (small fee for that) and well worth it. Hope this helps.

just got off vrbo and my head is swimming!
It looks like we'll be able to find something affordable for a week.

AA - American has really cheap fares too!

Here are a few more leads, specifically for St. Augustine.

I'm not sure what your budget is. If you want a 3 BR, oceanfront condo during that time period, it will run between $1,500-$2,000/week. At least that's the going rate in my condo complex. However, if you don't require oceanfront, you can find something much more reasonable.
