We stayed in a ground floor room, and it was really nice to be able to walk right out onto the beach.
Usually, I like a second floor room (better view and it can be a TOTAL pain if you get the "Elephant Family" in the room upstairs).
It was also nice as a local dog adopted us, and we could sit out there with our surrogate puppy in the evenings and relax.
The last time we stayed there, the ground floor rooms had a patio and the upper rooms had a screened in porch. We have found with experience that we NEVER use a screened in porch unless it has a hefty fan. You can't see well through it and it gets hot.

Ruby - When I stayed at FS I stayed in a ground floor suite. It was huge! It was wonderful, there was a small lawn area in front of the patio. I felt it was very private. I spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony and saw not a soul. I am sure you will have a wonderful room first or second floor!
