Ladera for 5 days?

My husband and I are planning on spending 5 days at Ladera in St. Lucia in June. Some people feel 3 is enough, then change hotels to have something closer to the beach. Any advice?

We were at Ladera for a week. Five days is not too long. Each day they have a shuttle to both the beach at the Jalousie or to a dock where you take a water taxi to Anse Chastanet's beach. So there is no need to actually stay at a beach unless you feel that is necessary for you.

The shuttle ride takes only a few minutes to either place, with the water taxi adding about 10 minutes for a very pleasant ride.

Without a direct access to the beach this place is boring after two days. Split your stay.

Hi

My husband and I spent our hotneymoon on St. Lucia spending five nights at Ladera. WOW oh WOW that the most beautiful romantic resort in all the Caribbean in my opinion. To us five days was not enough and are planning a trip back to renew our wedding vows

Now Ldera is not for everyone: no air conditioning because of the open wall facing the Caribbean, no TV, not radio, no phone (you do get walkie talkies) It is 1,000 ft. up so you must take a shuttle down to the Jalouise Plantation beach or drive your rental jeep.

YOu are welcome to read our full trip report and look at all our St. Lucia and Ladera pictures. Just email me at [email protected] and I will forward the link to you.

Thank you for your helpful responses! I'm also torn whether to reserve the Villa or if the Deluxe Suite is big enough (there's two of us). Also, if anyone spent a day in Castries, is there anything you'd especially recommend?

My fiance and I spent a week at Ladera, and I would highly recommend staying there the whole time. We were planning to split our time between Ladera and Le Sport - we started at Ladera, and after one night at Le Sport, we missed Ladera so much that we went back to Ladera for the rest of the week. We have stayed a lot of amazing resorts around the world (many fancier than Ladera), and Ladera is by far our favorite - the experience there completely transports you - the views, the wonderful staff, the open air rooms, the lush scenery. At Ladera, you can use the Anse Chastenet or Jalousie beaches (both very different) or just lounge by the Ladera pool (gorgeous vista, no one around). Ladera is also near activities like the volcano and hiking. I also loved the food at Ladera. We ate at Anse Chastenet one night and did not find it to be the same caliber. If you do split your trip, end at Ladara so you are not disappointed when you leave. We stayed in two different suites, and both were huge with plunge pool. We saw one of the villas, and it was enormous with multiple bedrooms - fit for a family or group of friends travelling together. Have a wonderful trip!
