Island with both nice beaches And Nightlife?
I have been reading the forums to find a suggestion for a Caribbean Island with both nice beaches and okay nightlife. Is there one? We are a few 28 year old gals looking to lay on a beach and relax but also want some options for going out at night. We are planning on going in June so hoping for some less expensive options.
Do you have any suggestions?

Absolutely Isla Mujeres. Near Cancun, but worlds away in feel from that area. Best beaches I have seen (yes, way better than Aruba!), and the nightlife can be a hoot. Usually not a big Mexico fan, but that island was paradise.
If going, get a map on mapchick.com to give you all the info you could want.
One of the BEST vacations we have ever had (and we have been to many areas!)

Consider Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Safe, great bars, downtown turns into a big party, nothing like Cancun, small town located between the Pacific and the Sierra Madre mountains. So much to do and see, and dirt cheap resorts. We were just there in May, cheapest and best vaca we have ever had. (cheaper than Cancun, we stayed at the Canto Del Sol)

Cancun would fit the bill...I went with some girlfriends in college and we had a blast laying on the beach all day and then going out at night.
I haven't been yet, but I would also suggest Aruba. My husband and I are going next April, and it seems to have what you are looking for.

I was also going to suggest St. Maarten/St. Martin. Aside from casinos, there are now a lot of new bars, restaurants, dance clubs, and live musical entertainment, espeically on the Dutch side.
Both the French and Dutch sides have nice beaches, as well.
